Continuing its role as Belgium’s flying ambassador, Brussels Airlines teamed up with Michelin-starred chef Peter Goossens of the acclaimed Hof van Cleve to create new gourmet meals for premium passengers.
Beginning in December, business-class travelers on the carrier’s intercontinental routes to the United States and Africa will be offered six distinct menus that highlight Belgian culinary traditions. Chef Goossens focused on seasonal, regional ingredients to bring an unmistakably Belgian touch to each dish while accommodating the practical constraints of in-flight service.
“We set out to deliver menus that recreate a restaurant experience at 30,000 feet,” said Chef Goossens. “Working within the limitations of airline catering was a challenge, but I’m proud of the outcome. Collaborating with Brussels Airlines was a unique opportunity, and I look forward to hearing guests’ reactions on board.”
To complement the menus, Chef Goossens selected six regional beers to pair with the dishes, including choices from Brouwerij De Ryck and Brouwerij De Landtsheer. These pairings are intended to enhance the flavor profiles of the meals and reinforce the Belgian culinary identity presented on board.
“We are extremely proud to serve Peter Goossens’ creations on our intercontinental flights,” said Anne Tricot, Vice President Customer Experience at Brussels Airlines. “Our goal is to provide Business Class guests with a premium dining experience that celebrates our Belgian heritage. Peter’s menus showcase some of the best Belgium has to offer.”
The collaboration underscores Brussels Airlines’ ongoing commitment to combining high-quality service with national culture, giving travelers a taste of Belgium while they travel long-haul.
