Switzerland’s flag carrier, SWISS, has introduced its newest flagship aircraft, the Boeing 777-300ER, on the Los Angeles (LAX)–Zurich (ZRH) route. Deborah Flint, CEO of Los Angeles World Airports, said the arrival of the aircraft strengthens LAX’s long-haul service: “We are pleased that SWISS’s new Boeing 777-300ER has joined the LAX fleet, providing direct service from Los Angeles to Zurich. The increased capacity and the airline’s emphasis on passenger experience align with our commitment to delivering world-class travel at LAX.”
The 777-300ER features a redesigned cabin with three classes: First, Business and Economy. Both First and Business cabins offer greater space and enhanced privacy with a new layout designed around comfort and convenience. First-class passengers will enjoy upgraded in-flight entertainment on a 32-inch seatback screen, one of the largest available on commercial aircraft.
SWISS plans to add the new 777-300ER to its Miami (MIA) routes later this summer, linking the U.S. East Coast to Switzerland and providing connections to a range of European destinations. Patrick Heymann, Senior Director for the Americas at SWISS, described the arrival as a landmark moment for the airline: “The new Boeing 777-300ER represents a significant step forward for SWISS. It raises the bar for in-flight comfort and overall travel experience, and we are proud to mark this achievement alongside local authorities, the LAX Port Authority and our passengers.”
The expanded service and modernized cabin reflect SWISS’s broader effort to enhance long-haul travel with improved seating, privacy and entertainment options, while increasing capacity on key transatlantic routes. Travelers flying between Los Angeles and Zurich can now expect a refreshed onboard experience and advanced amenities aimed at making long-distance travel more comfortable and enjoyable.
