The Water Club at Borgata Hotel Review — Atlantic City, NJ

Arrival/Check-In: We arrived at The Water Club Hotel at Borgata in Atlantic City, New Jersey, for a two-night stay and drove straight to valet parking. The drop-off was quick, and an escalator took us one flight up to the lobby for check-in. The Water Club sits just steps from the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa and is connected by an indoor walkway. With no one ahead of us, the check-in was efficient and we were on our way to our room quickly.

Guest Quarters: Our room on the 30th floor was a king suite with the expected amenities: complimentary WiFi, robes, a large couch and a dedicated desk. The bathroom featured a walk-in shower equipped with both standard and rainfall showerheads, offering a comfortable and modern experience.

We were in Atlantic City to attend the annual food and wine festival Savor Borgata, held in the adjacent property and accessible by the indoor walkway. This made attending the festival effortless while staying at the quieter, upscale Water Club, and kept us sheltered from the cold weekend weather.

Although we were at the food festival, we tried The Water Club’s in-room dining. The menu, created by celebrity chef Geoffrey Zakarian, focuses on refined, inventive dishes delivered to your door. For breakfast on our first morning we both ordered eggs with rosemary home fries, an arugula and fennel salad, and grilled country bread, along with juice and coffee. The meal arrived well ahead of the estimated 30 minutes and every component was well prepared — one of the best room service breakfasts we’ve had.

Services/Amenities: Guests at The Water Club have full access to Borgata’s amenities, including its restaurants, event spaces, casino and nightlife. The Water Club itself offers 18,000 square feet of meeting space and boutique retail shops for added convenience.

The property features seven pools, both indoor and outdoor, though we didn’t have time to use them during our stay. We did visit the fitness center on the 33rd floor, which includes numerous cardio machines such as treadmills and ellipticals, plus free weights and weight machines. Bottled water and towels are provided. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer sweeping views of the city and the Atlantic Ocean, making the scenery a highlight of the workout. Nearby is the two-story spa that occupies the 32nd and 33rd floors, providing easy access to wellness services.

At check-out, the process and valet retrieval were smooth and timely. We left relaxed and still satisfied from the festival’s excellent food.
