China Southern Airlines began a codeshare partnership with Emirates on June 27, covering the daily Guangzhou–Dubai service.
China Southern operates a daily flight between Guangzhou and Dubai. The outbound leg departs Guangzhou at 19:05 and arrives in Dubai at 23:20. The return flight leaves Dubai at 01:00 and arrives back in Guangzhou at 12:35. The carrier deploys a Boeing 777-300ER configured with 309 seats across four classes: four semi-box style first class seats, 34 business class seats, 44 premium economy seats and 277 economy seats.
Emirates’ service between Dubai and Guangzhou departs Dubai at 10:20 and arrives in Guangzhou at 22:05. The return service is a red-eye flight that leaves Guangzhou at 00:15 and lands in Dubai at 04:25. Emirates operates a three-class Airbus A380 on this route.
Under the codeshare agreement, travelers will effectively have two daily options between Guangzhou and Dubai, since each airline can sell seats on the other’s flight. Codeshares allow passengers to book itineraries combining multiple carriers on a single reservation, simplifying connections, check-in and baggage transfer.
This partnership marks Emirates’ first codeshare agreement with a mainland Chinese carrier, expanding network connectivity between the UAE and southern China while offering more scheduling flexibility for passengers traveling on the Guangzhou–Dubai corridor.
