Singapore Airlines Launches Direct Flights Between Singapore and Seattle

Singapore Airlines has launched a new nonstop service to the United States, adding Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to its route network beginning Sept. 3, 2019. The service initially operates three times weekly and increases to four weekly frequencies in October. Singapore Airlines uses an Airbus A350-900 on the route, configured with 42 business class seats, 24 premium economy seats and 187 economy seats.

The outbound flight departs Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) at 9:25 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving in Seattle at 9:05 a.m. the same day. The return flight departs Seattle at 10:40 a.m. on those days, arriving back in Singapore the following day at 5:30 p.m. Beginning in October, an additional Sunday departure will be added.

Goh Choon Phong, CEO of Singapore Airlines, said the new nonstop service to Seattle underscores the carrier’s commitment to expanding its presence in the important U.S. market and extending its global network. The route also strengthens Changi Airport’s hub role by offering faster, more convenient connections for customers traveling from Southeast Asia, South Asia and Australasia to North America.

The Seattle route complements Singapore Airlines’ existing U.S. services and offers travelers more choices for direct travel between the Pacific Northwest and Southeast Asia. With the A350-900’s modern cabin and fuel-efficient performance, the route is positioned to deliver a comfortable long-haul experience across all three cabins. Travelers can expect the carrier’s standard inflight amenities and service across business, premium economy and economy classes.

By adding Seattle, Singapore Airlines improves connectivity for both leisure and business passengers, facilitating smoother transfers through Singapore’s hub for onward journeys across its global network. The incremental frequency increase in October reflects anticipated demand growth for direct travel between Seattle and Singapore, particularly for connections onward to neighboring regions across Asia and Australasia.

Passengers planning to fly the new service should check Singapore Airlines’ published schedules and booking channels for the most current flight times, fare options and baggage policies. Availability may vary as frequencies increase, so early booking is recommended for those seeking preferred travel dates or cabin classes.
