The Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel has unveiled a renovated lower-level meetings area following a $2.2 million upgrade. The 11,000-square-foot space is designed for groups of 10 to 150 attendees and provides boutique-style meeting rooms, personalized service and flexible catering options.
The refreshed area features warm tones and geometric accents, with new carpeting, updated lighting, contemporary wall coverings and electronic reader boards. A custom, state-of-the-art boardroom table anchors the professional environment, and the space is pre-wired for advanced AV requirements. A dedicated events team focused on smaller meetings will assist planners and onsite clients, and a separate 52nd Street entrance creates a streamlined arrival experience.
“With a dedicated events team of experts specializing in smaller-sized meetings, our new Lower Lobby meeting space offers groups the types of services typically only found at boutique-style hotels,” said Terry Lewis, general manager. Meeting planners and clients are already taking advantage of the focused support and tailored services provided by the team.
The hotel’s culinary team partners with well-known New York food purveyors to create an authentic local food and beverage experience. Menu items are sourced from reputable specialty vendors, offering quality artisanal selections that reflect the city’s culinary character. In tribute to Manhattan, the breakout rooms carry neighborhood-inspired names such as Bryant Park, Columbus Circle, Madison Square, Bowery, Gramercy, Flatiron, Broadway, Murray Hill and Union Square.
Through April 30, meeting planners are invited to submit new name suggestions for the space formerly known as the Executive Conference Center. The selected entrant will receive 50,000 Starwood Preferred Guest Starpoints or a donation to a charity of their choice, subject to approval. Submissions are limited to one entry per person, and charity selections must be approved by Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel offers 43 total meeting rooms, including a 13,768-square-foot Metropolitan Ballroom and an 8,715-square-foot New York Ballroom.
