Refusing to let winter stop your love of camping? Spacious Skies Campgrounds makes it easy. With 1,672 RV, tent, cabin and glamping sites across 13 locations from Maine to South Carolina, Spacious Skies keeps five properties open through the winter season. While some warm-weather amenities like swimming pools and beaches may be limited, those offerings are replaced by cozy, seasonal alternatives suited to colder months.

Here’s a look at what’s available this winter:

Located on roughly 500 acres within easy reach of Nashville, Knoxville and Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Spacious Skies Belle Ridge in Tennessee features 12 cabins, 50 full-hookup RV sites and a selection of single and group tent sites. On-site amenities include a gazebo and pavilion, WiFi, golf carts, a camp store and gem mining. Nearby hiking and UTV trails lead to fishing spots and waterfalls, with seasonal swimming where available. Belle Ridge sits close to I-40 and regional attractions such as the Civil War Trail, Cummins Falls State Park, Cumberland Cove Golf Course and Monterey Rail Trail, making it a convenient base for outdoor exploration.

In South Carolina’s Upcountry, Spacious Skies Peach Haven—convenient to I-85—offers winter-friendly activities like mini golf, a dog park, a playground, a ball pit, fishing and a pavilion. The property also has a recreation hall, a large fire pit, a camp store and hiking trails. WiFi is provided across all 127 RV sites, seven tent sites and six deluxe lodges that sleep up to six guests each. Additional lodging includes two deluxe six-person cabins, one four-person cabin and two two-person units. Lodges and cabins come equipped with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, private decks, televisions and gas grills; guests should bring linens, bedding, cooking utensils and other personal supplies. Nearby day-trip options include Hollywild Animal Park, the Cherokee County History & Arts Museum, Cowpens National Battlefield and the Spartanburg Art Museum.

Near Asheville at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Spacious Skies Hidden Creek embraces winter in its own way. Although some sport courts—for volleyball, shuffleboard, basketball and Gaga ball—are closed for the season, guests can still enjoy miniature golf, fishing and a network of nature trails. RV sites range from lake-view spots overlooking the property’s five-acre lake to creekside sites, and lodging includes deluxe one- and two-bedroom cabins. The area’s natural attractions make winter visits rewarding, with nearby destinations such as Lake James, Pisgah National Forest, Linville Caverns, Linville Falls, Linville Gorge and the Orchard at Altapass offering scenic trails and outdoor discovery even in colder months.
