Royal Brunei Airlines, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Brunei, has taken delivery of its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner. This delivery marks the first 787 handed over to an airline based in Southeast Asia. The new Dreamliner will enter regional service on Oct. 18, operating between Brunei (BWN) and Singapore (SIN), and will commence the carrier’s long-haul service to London (LHR) via Dubai (DXB) on Dec. 1.
Dermot Mannion, chairman of Royal Brunei Airlines, said the addition underscores the airline’s commitment to passenger comfort and high-quality service. He emphasized that, despite being a smaller carrier, Royal Brunei focuses on personal service and aims to provide a calm, gracious travel experience that reflects Bruneian hospitality.
The airline plans to operate its long-haul routes with 787 Dreamliner aircraft starting in the second quarter of 2014, including the introduction of the type on flights to Melbourne, Australia (MEL). The modern Dreamliner fleet is expected to enhance operational efficiency and passenger comfort across both regional and long-haul networks.
