Rock & Brews, the rock-inspired restaurant and entertainment concept co-founded by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS, earned the Bar of the Year award at the 2017 Airport Food and Beverage conference in Toronto, besting international competition.
The concept is built to appeal to travelers and families with classic comfort food, locally influenced menu items, and a broad selection of craft and international beers served in a lively, family-friendly setting. Rock & Brews first entered airports in 2013 with a location in Terminal 5 at Los Angeles International Airport, introduced by Crews, a company known for bringing dynamic restaurant and retail concepts to airports. The award-winning unit is Crews’ second Rock & Brews at LAX, located in Terminal 1.
“We are continually looking for brands that will excite and serve travelers at airports, and Rock & Brews has exceeded our wildest expectation,” said Robert Crews, president and chief executive officer of Crews. “We are honored that Rock & Brews in the Southwest Terminal at LAX was recognized as having the best bar, beating out more than 200 entrants worldwide.”
Since opening in 2016, the Terminal 1 restaurant generated $11 million in revenue in its first year. It offers travelers approachable American comfort food at reasonable prices and a full bar with an extensive selection of international and craft beers, all in an atmosphere that pays tribute to classic rock and roll.
