Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas Unveils New Luxury Design

The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas reopened earlier this year following an extensive $55 million renovation after its acquisition. Perched in the scenic Las Colinas hills, the property has served the Dallas area for nearly four decades and now presents a refreshed vision of modern luxury and relaxed hospitality.

Rooted in the site’s history, the resort occupies 400 acres of the original 1,500-acre parcel purchased by the Carpenter family in 1928. The family named it “El Ranchito de las Colinas”—the Little Ranch of the Hills—and used it as a place of rest and enjoyment. Today the hotel remains close to downtown Dallas while keeping a strong connection to the natural landscape that defined the ranch.

Led by design firms Jeffrey Beers International and Leo A Daly, the renovation’s first phase introduced a number of thoughtful enhancements. Among them is Bar Juniper, a new lobby bar focused on clear spirits and a refined, nature-inspired aesthetic. Design accents reference native Texas vegetation, while a standout custom chandelier—modeled on the cotton plant’s flowers—features 340 clear-ribbed glass diffusers and weighs 800 pounds, serving as a focal point in the bar.

All 427 guestrooms, including 26 suites, were updated with interiors that reflect the resort’s relaxed ranch heritage while delivering contemporary comforts. The property also expanded and modernized its meeting and event infrastructure, now offering up to 80,000 square feet of meeting and ballroom space suitable for a range of gatherings.

“Our commitment is to deliver The Ritz-Carlton’s exceptional service in a destination that truly distinguishes itself,” said Tod Morrow, general manager of The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas. “We look forward to welcoming local residents and visitors with innovative offerings and memorable experiences.”

The resort is embedded in a natural setting and features two 18-hole golf courses. It also holds certification as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, reflecting a focus on preserving the native environment. A short walk from the hotel, The Nelson Golf & Sports Club provides guests access to extensive recreational facilities, including outdoor tennis courts, racquetball, a fitness center equipped with Technogym machines, and a group exercise studio offering classes such as aerial yoga and cycling.

“The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas is a highly anticipated addition to the brand,” said Jamie Kerr, vice president and global brand leader for The Ritz-Carlton. “The property offers a rare combination of Texas natural beauty, luxurious accommodations and convenient access to the city—an experience we are proud to offer our guests.”

Dining options were expanded as part of the refresh. Knife Italian, a new concept from Michelin-starred Chef John Tesar, interprets Italian cuisine through a Texas lens. Campo Coffee & Provisions provides a European-inspired coffee program featuring locally roasted espresso and a sommelier-curated wine selection. The spa and wellness offerings were upgraded as well: the 14,000-square-foot salon and spa now operates as The Ritz-Carlton Spa, and the resort pool area gained luxury cabanas, more seating and a new poolside bar.
