Scandinavian Airlines has relocated its operations at London Heathrow Airport to Terminal 2, the Queen’s Terminal. This terminal now houses all Star Alliance carriers that serve Heathrow, bringing partner airlines together under one roof to simplify connections and improve the passenger experience.
Consolidating Star Alliance services in Terminal 2 makes transfer processes more efficient for travelers. Passengers flying with SAS who connect to flights operated by other Star Alliance members benefit from shorter transfer times, clearer wayfinding and coordinated ground services that reduce stress and uncertainty during layovers.
“We are very pleased and proud to offer the benefits of this state-of-the-art terminal to our passengers,” said Snoree Andresen, vice president of product and development at Scandinavian Airlines. “Passengers will enjoy faster routes through check-in and security, a range of modern check-in options and a variety of shopping and dining choices in bright, spacious surroundings.”
Terminal 2’s design emphasizes passenger flow and comfort. The facility features up-to-date security and baggage systems, multiple check-in solutions including traditional counters and self-service kiosks, and open concourses that create a pleasant environment for travellers moving between flights.
Joining SAS at Terminal 2 are Star Alliance partners that operate at Heathrow, including Aegean Airlines, Air Canada, Air China, Air New Zealand, All Nippon Airways, Asiana Airlines, Austrian Airways, Avianca, Brussels Airlines, Croatia Airlines, EGYPTAIR, Ethiopian Airlines, EVA Air, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, South African Airways, SWISS, TAP Portugal, Turkish Airlines, THAI Airways and United.
For passengers, the concentration of Star Alliance carriers in one terminal delivers practical benefits: fewer terminal transfers, better-aligned flight connections and a more consistent level of ground service across partner airlines. The move also supports smoother baggage transfers and clearer communication for passengers travelling on codeshare itineraries.
Overall, SAS’s move to Terminal 2 reinforces the airline’s commitment to improving connectivity and convenience for customers travelling through London Heathrow. The centralized Star Alliance presence creates a more streamlined travel experience for both inbound and outbound passengers, with improved facilities and services designed to make journeys faster and more comfortable.
