Australian-based QT Hotels & Resorts has expanded into Asia with the opening of QT Singapore, the brand’s first property outside Australia and New Zealand. Blending luxury, chic design and a touch of eccentricity, QT Singapore occupies the former headquarters of the Cable and Wireless Eastern Extension Telegraph Company, a historic building originally constructed in 1927.

Under the direction of designer Nic Graham, the building has undergone an extensive transformation to become QT Singapore. Scheduled to open this September, the hotel offers 134 luxury guestrooms and suites, a rooftop pool and bar reimagined as Rooftop by QT, and a signature bar and grill that also provides intimate dining experiences.
Guestrooms combine modern comforts with thoughtful touches, featuring rainfall showers, minibars, Nespresso machines, Kevin Murphy amenities and Dyson Supersonic hair dryers. Rooms also include wireless Bose speakers, iPad room-control functionality and other contemporary conveniences designed to enhance each stay.

QT Singapore benefits from a prime location that places guests within easy reach of the city’s lively downtown. The landmark building sits adjacent to Lau Pa Sat Hawker Centre, offering convenient access to local dining and cultural experiences.
“We’re excited by the liveliness QT will bring to Singapore’s diverse tourism landscape,” said Callum Kennedy, group general manager, EVT Hotels and Resorts. “QT Singapore will be championed by QT’s luxurious quirk, from design to signature service, bringing the energy and vibrancy guests love from the world of QT to be discovered by locals and travelers in Southeast Asia.”
With its combination of historical architecture and contemporary design, QT Singapore aims to deliver a distinctive hospitality experience for both visitors and local residents. The hotel’s public spaces, dining outlets and rooftop leisure areas are positioned to become social hubs for the neighbourhood, while the guestrooms focus on comfort and technology to meet modern traveller expectations.
As QT makes its debut in Southeast Asia, the new property represents a strategic step for the brand’s international growth. The conversion of a 1920s telegraph headquarters into a modern luxury hotel demonstrates a commitment to preserving heritage while introducing fresh design and service elements tailored to today’s market.
QT Singapore’s opening introduces an option for travellers seeking boutique luxury with bold design influences in the heart of the city, where curated amenities and a lively atmosphere are intended to appeal to both business and leisure guests.
