To mark three years of uninterrupted daily flights between Philadelphia (PHL) and Doha (DOH) and to thank the local community for its warm welcome, Qatar Airways recently donated children’s amenity kits to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Updated earlier this year in collaboration with Hasbro Inc., the airline’s children’s amenity kits are designed to keep young travelers engaged and comfortable on long-haul journeys. The kits include a selection of plush toys, activity packs and in-flight lunch boxes tailored for children.
Young patients at the hospital received popular toys such as Elefun and Mr. Potato Head, along with family-friendly board games like Clue Junior, Guess Who and Monopoly, offering both play and distraction for families during hospital stays.
“Philadelphia has been tremendously welcoming to Qatar Airways during the past three years, and we wanted to thank the community with this special gift to the children at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. These amenity kits have been favorites among our young travelers, and we hope they bring the same joy to the children and families at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Qatar Airways is dedicated to giving back to the communities in which it serves, and we look forward to many more years of serving Philadelphia with superior service inflight and locally,” said Gunter Saurwein, vice president, Americas, Qatar Airways.
Qatar Airways remains the only carrier offering non-stop service between Philadelphia and Doha, providing passengers with convenient connections to destinations across Africa, Asia and India through its Doha hub.
The airline’s recent community-focused activities didn’t stop in Philadelphia. In August, Qatar Airways marked a decade of service to Washington, D.C. (IAD) by partnering with District Doughnut to offer handcrafted, specially designed doughnuts to both the local community and airline passengers. The carrier also celebrated its first anniversary in Atlanta (ATL) with a surprise event at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where travelers were treated to cake and peach iced tea.
