In celebration of Qatar Airways’ three-year anniversary of daily nonstop service between Philadelphia International Airport and Hamad International Airport in Doha, the airline donated hundreds of its children’s amenity kits to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Updated earlier this year in collaboration with Hasbro, the amenity kits feature a selection of plush toys, activity sets and in‑flight lunch boxes designed for young travelers. To thank the Philadelphia community for its warm support, Qatar Airways presented these new kits to children and families at the hospital. Plush items include Elefun and Mr. Potato Head, and the activity selection features family favorites such as Clue Junior, Guess Who? and Monopoly Here.
“Philadelphia has been tremendously welcoming to Qatar Airways during the past three years, and we wanted to thank the community with this special gift to the children at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia,” said Gunter Saurwein, vice president, Americas, Qatar Airways. “These amenity kits have been favorites among our young travelers, and we hope they bring the same joy to the children and families at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Qatar Airways is dedicated to giving back to the communities in which it serves, and we look forward to many more years of serving Philadelphia with superior service inflight and locally.”
Qatar Airways remains the only carrier offering nonstop flights from Philadelphia to Doha, providing direct connections to destinations across Africa, Asia and India through its hub in Doha. The daily service operates on Qatar Airways’ Airbus A350, an aircraft the airline introduced to the Philadelphia market on Jan. 1, 2016, marking its first A350 route in the United States.
The A350 used on the Philadelphia route is Wi‑Fi enabled and incorporates several eco-efficiency technologies. Its cabin includes features designed to reduce jet lag, such as a dynamic LED lighting system and a high-precision air management system that refreshes cabin air every few minutes. The aircraft carries 283 passengers overall and offers 26 business-class seats arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, delivering improved comfort and connectivity for travelers on long-haul routes.
