Princess Cruises has unveiled its 2014 sailing program and introduced a new ship, the Regal Princess. Joining the recently launched Royal Princess, the addition brings the fleet to 18 vessels. The Regal Princess is scheduled to operate a series of 12-day Mediterranean sailings between Venice and Barcelona in spring 2014.
Designed to accommodate around 3,600 passengers, the Regal Princess offers a number of distinctive features, including a glass-enclosed walkway that projects 28 feet beyond the ship’s edge, an adults-only pool with private cabanas, and outside cabins equipped with balconies. These amenities are intended to enhance onboard comfort and provide varied spaces for relaxation and sightseeing at sea.
The sister ship, Royal Princess, entered service earlier and is set to begin Mediterranean cruises in June 2013. For 2014, Princess Cruises will also deploy several other upscale ships across Europe: the Emerald Princess will operate from Southampton, England, to Mediterranean ports; the Ruby Princess will offer itineraries around the British Isles; and the Ocean Princess will run a split season, alternating between Mediterranean and northern European sailings.
With this lineup, Princess Cruises expands its reach to more than 120 destinations and offers a broad selection of departures—94 sailings across 48 distinct itineraries—giving travelers a wide variety of options for European and Mediterranean cruises in 2014.
