Hyatt has announced plans to open the first Park Hyatt in Brazil, with the Park Hyatt Foz do Iguaçu expected to debut in 2017. Situated in the city of Foz do Iguaçu in southwestern Brazil, the property will be conveniently located near Iguaçu National Park, the UNESCO World Heritage site famous for the Iguaçu Falls. The region borders Paraguay and Argentina and is among the world’s most sought-after destinations for eco-travel, resort stays, and meetings and incentives.
The Park Hyatt will be part of a mixed-use development on a 98-acre site. The project includes 30 Park Hyatt-branded two- and three-bedroom residences, plots for single-family homes, and a 25-acre protected nature reserve. The hotel itself will feature 170 luxury rooms and suites, four restaurants and bars, a spa, a fitness center, an outdoor swimming pool, and over 16,000 square feet of meeting and event space, designed to serve both leisure and business travelers.
The development’s blend of luxury accommodations, private residences, and conservation-minded open space reflects an emphasis on high-end hospitality integrated with environmental stewardship. With its proximity to one of the region’s most iconic natural attractions, the Park Hyatt Foz do Iguaçu aims to attract visitors seeking refined service combined with access to outdoor adventures, cross-border excursions, and cultural experiences in Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay.
As a luxury brand within the Hyatt portfolio, Park Hyatt properties typically focus on personalized service, elegant design, and refined dining and wellness offerings. The planned restaurants, bars, spa, and event facilities at this location are intended to support both exclusive leisure stays and sophisticated business events, making the hotel suitable for weddings, conferences, and incentive trips as well as romantic getaways and family vacations.
By integrating branded residences alongside hotel operations, the development will offer long-term guests and second-home buyers the opportunity to enjoy Park Hyatt standards of service while benefiting from private residential amenities and the natural surroundings of the nearby reserve. The mix of hotel rooms, residences, and protected land aims to balance luxury hospitality with conservation, providing a distinctive destination for travelers seeking comfort, privacy, and direct access to one of South America’s most impressive natural wonders.
