Did you know there’s a spot in New York City where you can read, sip coffee and enjoy a glass of wine? Bibliotheque combines a bookstore, café and wine bar, created by author A.J. Jacono.
The venue shifts with the hours. During the day it operates as a café, serving coffee from Onyx Coffee Lab and pastries from the renowned Bien Cuit bakery. The daytime menu includes sandwiches such as prosciutto burro and caprese, plus matcha drinks, a selection of teas and light snacks.

At 5 p.m., the space evolves into a wine bar with an inventive list organized by literary genres. Categories include Short Stories (by-the-glass selections), Classics, Mystery, Travel, Adventure, Sagas and Epics, Fantasy and Romance. The cellar holds more than 700 varietals and roughly 3,000 bottles, and there is a Stanzas section offering half-bottles. Guests can order wines by the glass or from an offering of rare bottles, with an emphasis on French and Italian vintages. An Agriculture section highlights beers and ciders, while Criticism features top-rated 100-point wines chosen by the staff and sommelier Scott Woltz.
The wine bar menu pairs thoughtfully with the drinks, featuring an array of conservas (tinned fish) served with accompaniments, charcuterie boards, mezze platters and house-made sandwiches.

The entire venue is lined with books, so whether you’re enjoying coffee in the morning or wine in the evening, you can do so surrounded by titles to browse and buy.
Beyond its daily offerings, Bibliotheque maintains a lively events calendar that celebrates literature, coffee and wine. Regular programming includes author readings, wine tastings, writing workshops and wine education sessions.
Bibliotheque’s hours are Sunday through Thursday, 10 a.m.–10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.–11 p.m.
