Popular New York retro hotel NoMad is set to open a second location in Las Vegas in late 2018 as part of a $50 million renovation and rebranding of the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino. The Las Vegas outpost will include a NoMad restaurant overseen by chef Daniel Humm and restaurateur Will Guidara, along with a larger sister property to be called Park MGM and an additional Eataly marketplace.
The NoMad Hotel will feature 292 rooms, a private pool and on-site gaming. Park MGM will offer approximately 2,700 guestrooms and suites, a variety of dining options and the expansive Eataly marketplace inspired by European market culture. While Park MGM’s design will draw on European influences, the entire redevelopment is being tailored to appeal to today’s millennial travelers.
Both hotels will provide direct access to The Park, the outdoor entertainment district along the Strip, and will sit close to major new venues such as the T-Mobile Arena and the Park Theater, which is scheduled to open at the end of this year. The combined project aims to modernize the Monte Carlo campus and open in late 2018.
The expansion reflects a broader shift in Las Vegas toward boutique hotels and high-end dining and nightlife, moving away from the overt glitz and gimmicks that once defined the city’s resort scene. Developers and operators are increasingly focused on curated guest experiences, upscale restaurants and thoughtfully designed public spaces that attract both visitors and locals.
With a blend of established hospitality names and new concepts, the Monte Carlo’s transformation into NoMad and Park MGM seeks to create a mixed-use resort environment that balances refined dining, contemporary accommodations and accessible entertainment. Guests can expect a mix of intimate, design-forward rooms at NoMad alongside the larger, amenity-rich offerings at Park MGM—both positioned to serve the evolving tastes of travelers to the Las Vegas Strip.
