New Restaurants and Hotels Opening on Florida’s Historic Coast This Fall

Spanning St. Augustine and Ponte Vedra, Florida’s Historic Coast welcomes several new openings and updates this fall that enhance lodging, dining and waterfront experiences.

New Hotels

Hotel Amalga St. Augustine

Part of Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio, Hotel Amalga St. Augustine opened on the San Sebastian River. The property offers 58 guest rooms, rooftop patios and a pool with views toward historic downtown and the nearby marina.

AC Hotel St. Augustine by Marriott

The AC Hotel St. Augustine by Marriott debuts later this year in downtown St. Augustine. The European-inspired hotel includes 142 guestrooms, an outdoor pool and lounge area, a fitness center, roughly 1,500 square feet of event space, and a signature restaurant.

Castillo Real St. Augustine Beach Resort

After more than $2 million in upgrades, Castillo Real St. Augustine Beach Resort has joined Hilton’s Tapestry Collection. The 60-room beachfront hotel now features updated amenities, a restaurant and a pool, enhancing its coastal retreat appeal.

St. Francis Inn — The San Sebastian River Houses

St. Francis Inn expanded its lodging options with the addition of The San Sebastian River Houses. Situated along the tidal marshes of Oyster Creek and the San Sebastian River, the houses include a gourmet kitchen, open living area, workspace, two king bedrooms each with an en suite bath, and a washer and dryer for extended-stay comfort.

Lynda’s at the Ocean Club

Now open in South Ponte Vedra Beach, Lynda’s at the Ocean Club offers oceanfront dining with a coastal-driven menu focused on fresh flavors and relaxed seaside ambiance.

Charlotte 33 Speakeasy

Odd Birds Cocktail Lounge and Kitchen has introduced a hidden speakeasy called Charlotte 33. Tucked behind a bookcase, the intimate space features moody lighting and craft cocktails for a clandestine evening out.

Purple Olive

Purple Olive is relocating to the historic Gypsy Cab Company building on Anastasia Island and is slated to reopen in early fall, continuing its focus on thoughtfully prepared seasonal cuisine.

Bea’s Fine Foods and All Day Café and Jefe’s Fish Wagon

Two new concepts from The Floridian—Bea’s Fine Foods and All Day Café and Jefe’s Fish Wagon—bring farm-to-fork dishes and fish-shack specialties to Anastasia Island, offering fresh interpretations of Southern classics and seaside favorites.

Menu Changes at Established Restaurants

Several well-regarded restaurants on Florida’s Historic Coast are updating their menus this season. Expect new dishes and seasonal offerings at Lotus Noodle Bar, Catch 27, Asado Life, Bueno Onda St. Augustine, Michael’s, La Cocina at the Cellar Upstairs, Cap’s on the Water, Ice Plant Bar & Restaurant, and 1912 Ocean Bar & Rooftop.
