National Geographic Acquires Adventure Media Brand Global Adrenaline

National Geographic Expeditions announced it has acquired Global Adrenaline, a full-service tour operator that plans and runs customized trips for groups and independent travelers across all seven continents.

The acquisition is an important step in National Geographic’s strategy to grow its travel business and broaden the experiences it offers to travelers worldwide.

For more than a decade, Global Adrenaline has partnered with National Geographic Expeditions on a range of land-based itineraries. Bringing the company in-house gives National Geographic a dedicated tour operator platform and call-center capabilities, enabling the brand to expand its land-based trip offerings and manage more of the guest experience directly. National Geographic will continue to collaborate with established partners—such as Lindblad Expeditions for small-ship cruising and TCS World Travel for private jet journeys—while using the new platform to diversify and scale its portfolio of travel products.

“Global Adrenaline has delivered exceptional experiences to our guests over the past 13 years,” said Declan Moore, CEO of National Geographic Partners. “We’re pleased to welcome them to the National Geographic family and to use their tour operator platform to expand our Expeditions offerings. This acquisition allows us to operate as a tour operator and more directly oversee all aspects of the unique travel experiences we provide.”

Founded in 2001, Global Adrenaline built a reputation for creating memorable, once-in-a-lifetime journeys that encourage travelers to engage meaningfully with the places they visit. Under National Geographic Expeditions, that mission will continue and reach a broader audience, with an emphasis on authentic, responsibly managed travel that inspires positive impact.

By integrating Global Adrenaline’s expertise and operational capabilities, National Geographic Expeditions aims to enhance trip design, customer service, and itinerary variety—while maintaining high standards for sustainable and educational travel. The combined resources support development of new land-based programs, deepen offerings in existing destinations, and strengthen the company’s ability to craft immersive experiences that align with National Geographic’s values of exploration, conservation, and storytelling.

Travelers can expect the expanded program to offer a wider range of guided journeys, specialized trips for interest-based groups, and opportunities that emphasize local engagement and environmental stewardship. With the acquisition complete, National Geographic Expeditions positions itself to deliver more diverse, thoughtfully curated travel options that reflect its mission to explore and protect the planet.
