Emirates has expanded its Airbus A380 network by adding Mumbai as its newest A380 destination, following the recent introduction of A380 service to Kuwait International Airport. The airline now operates a daily A380 rotation between Dubai International Airport and Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai. The superjumbo on this route features 14 private suites and onboard shower spas in First Class, 76 lie-flat seats in Business Class on the upper deck, and a freshly launched Indian menu showcasing regionally inspired dishes from across the country.
“In the past 29 years, we have flown over 42 million passengers between India and the U.A.E., and it is fitting that Mumbai becomes our 29th A380 destination,” said Ahmed Khoory, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for West Asia and the Indian Ocean at Emirates. “Customers on this route can now enjoy the luxury, quiet cabin environment and exceptional service of an Emirates A380, in addition to the four other daily services we continue to operate to the city.”
As the world’s largest operator of the double-deck A380, Emirates currently has 50 A380s in a fleet of 224 wide-body aircraft, reinforcing its commitment to premium long-haul travel and high-capacity routes.
