Munich Airport Partners to Cut Waste and Boost Sustainability

Munich Airport has partnered with Too Good To Go to reduce food waste, help customers save money and further its sustainability goals.

Through this collaboration, Munich Airport now supports the Too Good To Go app, which lets travelers, airport staff and passengers buy surplus meals at discounted prices. Each evening between 8:00 and 9:30 p.m., participating outlets across the airport list leftover items for purchase. Shoppers place orders in the app during the set pickup window and collect their meals directly from the chosen restaurant. Surf & Turf was the first venue to take part in the initial pilot.

Too Good To Go is a Danish startup with a digital platform operating beyond Munich Airport. The service runs in nine countries and partners with roughly 10,000 food-service locations, where millions of users have bought unsold food at reduced prices.

Aligning with Munich Airport’s broader environmental and corporate sustainability measures, the Too Good To Go partnership aims to cut waste while offering more affordable food options. The airport plans to expand the number of participating outlets soon, making the app’s offerings more widely available to travelers and staff.
