Malaysia Airlines Renovates Heathrow Lounge: What Travelers Need to Know

Malaysia Airlines will renovate its London Heathrow Terminal 4 lounge later this year as part of the airline’s broader rebranding and recovery strategy.

Last May, Malaysia Airlines announced a plan to refresh its Golden Lounges at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and London Heathrow. The redesign emphasizes elevated dining experiences in first-class areas and introduces a demonstration kitchen where guests can interact with chefs and see dishes prepared live.

At Kuala Lumpur, the carrier has already been upgrading several regional and Domestic Garden Lounges. These renovations were originally expected to complete in mid‑August but experienced delays; the lounges are now likely to remain closed through the end of September.

Refurbishment work is also underway at the Malaysia Airlines lounge in Penang International Airport, which is temporarily closed to facilitate the upgrades.

Future phases include renovating the International Lounge in the Satellite Terminal, scheduled between October and December, followed by the Heathrow T4 refurbishment in the fourth quarter. Additional lounge upgrades are planned for early next year at Kota Kinabalu International Airport and Kuching International Airport.

These improvements aim to modernize lounge facilities, enhance passenger comfort, and deliver a more consistent premium experience across the carrier’s network as part of its ongoing recovery and brand refresh efforts.
