The Leading Hotels of the World has added seven distinguished properties to its collection of more than 375 luxury hotels. Each new member reflects its destination’s character and offers travelers immersive cultural experiences.
In central London, close to Knightsbridge, Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park, the recently refurbished Lanesborough presents 93 elegantly appointed rooms and suites. The bedrooms and dining spaces have been restored to their original Georgian grandeur. Under Chef Patron Eric Frechon, guests enjoy refined dining at Céleste — which earned its first Michelin star — as well as afternoon tea, cigars and cognacs in The Garden Room.
Perched on the shores of Lake Como, the private sanctuary Il Sereno Lago di Como offers a contemporary take on lakeside luxury. The intimate retreat features 30 suites and a unique 60-foot infinity pool with uninterrupted views across Lake Como, combining relaxed design with high-end amenities.
Just minutes from Rome’s Spanish Steps, Portrait Roma turns luxury into personalized, spontaneous experiences. The hotel’s 14 studios and suites showcase 1950s images of Rome, original sketches and historic Salvatore Ferragamo shoes. Monument and garden views enhance the sense of place, while the hotel’s Lifestyle Team curates bespoke experiences such as private palace tours, gourmet dinners and visits to artistic highlights.
Designated a National Monument in 1996, The Singular Patagonia in Puerto Natales, Chile, occupies a converted early 20th-century cold storage plant overlooking the Fjord of Last Hope. With the Andes as a dramatic backdrop, the hotel’s 57 spacious guestrooms and suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows to maximize the views. Guests can join guided excursions with local experts and enjoy regional ingredients in the hotel restaurant, creating a deep connection to the landscape and culture.

In the French Alps, Hôtel Barrière Les Neiges in Courchevel sits directly on the famed Bellecôte slope. The hotel includes 22 rooms and 20 suites and provides direct access to the world’s largest ski area, blending alpine adventure with refined comfort. Dining options include the Fouquet’s brasserie, a sunlit terrace restaurant and an energetic lounge bar with daily entertainment. The Spa Diane Barrière offers adults tailored treatments designed for relaxation. The property is scheduled to open on December 16.
The Fontenay Hamburg represents contemporary Hamburg with sculptural architecture that reflects the Alster lake and surrounding parkland. The Fontenay features a landscaped patio and an impressive 88-foot atrium. All 131 rooms and suites offer notable lake views. The hotel’s dining options include an all-day restaurant highlighting Northern regional flavors and a top-floor gourmet restaurant and bar with sweeping city vistas. Its exclusive 10,000-square-foot rooftop spa includes a 65-foot indoor/outdoor pool, providing a luxurious retreat. The Fontenay is scheduled to open in summer 2017.
