LATAM Airlines Reveals Sleek New Cabin Design and Features

LATAM Airlines has revealed a preview of its redesigned cabin interiors as part of a major fleet refresh. The airline is investing $400 million to update more than 200 aircraft, a program scheduled for completion in 2021. The first aircraft featuring the new cabins are set to enter service this year on routes within Peru and Brazil.

The upgrade introduces a new premium-business product across LATAM’s long-haul fleet, including Boeing 767, 777, 787-9 and Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. The Premium Business cabins include custom-designed seats that provide increased privacy and direct aisle access. Seats recline fully to a 180-degree flat bed and include 18-inch personal entertainment screens. The design also adds more practical personal storage and a refreshed in-flight entertainment experience.

Beyond seating, the Premium Business experience encompasses a new dining concept, updated service protocols and upgraded bedding to enhance passenger comfort. These changes aim to deliver a more restful journey and a higher level of privacy and convenience for long-haul travelers.

Claudia Sender, Vice President of Customers for LATAM Airlines Group, said the new cabins are intended to elevate the onboard offering by giving passengers more choice, flexibility and personalization. “Our premium-business cabin will provide unrivaled comfort, privacy and a new service concept to enable passengers to arrive at their destinations well-rested and ready to continue their journey,” she explained. She added that the redesigned economy cabins will also improve comfort and give travelers more options to upgrade services and tailor their travel experience.

The cabin overhaul is positioned as a comprehensive effort to modernize LATAM’s passenger experience across multiple aircraft types, combining hardware improvements such as seats and entertainment systems with service enhancements in dining and bedding. By rolling out the new product across both premium and economy cabins, LATAM aims to offer a consistent, elevated experience for a wide range of passengers on regional and international routes.

As carrier fleets continue to adapt to changing traveler expectations, LATAM’s investment reflects a broader industry trend toward greater personalization, comfort and seamless in-flight services. The rollout timeline suggests travelers flying within Peru and Brazil will be among the first to experience the updated cabins, with a full program completion targeted by 2021.
