Langham Hospitality Group has opened a new hotel under its upscale Cordis Hotels & Resorts brand in Foshan, a key city in China’s Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The Cordis, Foshan and Lingnan Tiandi Hotel benefits from a prime location in the restored Lingnan Tiandi district and is positioned to appeal to both leisure and business travelers as it completes planned upgrades.
Foshan sits in the Pearl River Delta and serves as a cultural and commercial hub. The hotel is located in Chancheng district, a central area known for its blend of historic sites and modern urban development.

“Our Cordis hotel brands are always located in the hearts of their neighborhoods, which they fully embrace through local tours, art installations and community engagements,” said Bob van den Oord, CEO of Langham Hospitality Group. “The Lingnan Tiandi zone of Foshan’s Chancheng district is precisely the type of area where a Cordis hotel can thrive while also contributing to its local environment.”
The hotel features 390 rooms and suites, each designed with generous space and private balconies. The property also offers one- and two-bedroom serviced apartments for longer stays. Wellness and leisure amenities include a 92-foot indoor swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, sauna facilities and a fully equipped fitness center. Guests can also enjoy a two-story club lounge serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Dining options at the hotel include the Cantonese restaurant Lingnan Garden, focusing on regional flavors, and The Deck, a bistro-style venue offering barbecue buffets. These outlets complement the wider culinary scene within Lingnan Tiandi, where many restored buildings house restaurants celebrating Cantonese cuisine.
For events and meetings, the Cordis Foshan provides a 13,500-square-foot ballroom and eight multifunction meeting rooms, plus a large ceremonial hall suitable for weddings and social celebrations. These venues are designed to serve both corporate functions and private events, supported by the hotel’s service and catering capabilities.

Developed by Shui On Land, Lingnan Tiandi is notable for its careful restoration of historic structures, including the Song Dynasty Ancestral Temple, a 900-year-old site that hosts regular Chinese opera performances and reflects Foshan’s cultural heritage. The district also features renovated Cantonese mansions and village buildings repurposed as restaurants and cultural venues, creating an attractive destination for visitors interested in history and local traditions.
Shopping and entertainment options in Lingnan Tiandi range from bustling street markets to contemporary malls, drawing both local residents and visitors from across the region. The area is well connected: it is about a 10-minute walk from Zumiao subway station, within an hour by high-speed rail from major cities across the Greater Bay Area, and approximately 55 minutes by car from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, making it convenient for domestic and international travelers.
