It’s more than just airport food — it’s a thoughtful dining experience. OTG, a company known for transforming airport dining and retail, recently opened a 10,000-square-foot, technology-enhanced food hall in Terminal C at New York’s LaGuardia Airport.
Departing from the typical fast-food options found in many terminals, the food hall emphasizes both dine-in and grab-and-go choices made with fresh ingredients sourced from local purveyors. The concept aims to bring higher-quality, regionally inspired meals to travelers looking for better options and a more relaxed atmosphere.
Designed by New York-based ICRAVE, the space features an open-kitchen layout arranged along a double-sided “street,” encouraging visibility and interaction between cooks and guests. The design blends efficient passenger flow with a neighborhood-style dining environment, making the terminal feel more like a community food destination than a transient space.
Technology is woven into the visitor experience: more than 100 iPads are placed throughout the hall to provide easy access to OTG’s mobile app, self-checkout, and Apple Pay. These features aim to speed transactions while preserving the choice and quality of freshly prepared meals, whether travelers want to sit down for a quick meal or grab food on the go.
The food hall’s mix of local vendors and polished design reflects a broader trend in airport hospitality: treating terminals as culinary destinations rather than merely points of transit. By combining a curated food roster, open kitchens, and integrated payment options, the Terminal C food hall offers an elevated, convenient dining option that caters to modern travelers’ expectations.
