Last month, KLM resumed scheduled flights into London City Airport (LCY) from Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS), marking its return after an eight-year absence.
The carrier launched a four-times-daily service on March 26. These are the only flights KLM currently operates on the Amsterdam–London City route under its own brand; the airline also offers connections between LCY and AMS through a codeshare arrangement with CityJet, where CityJet operates the actual flights.
“We’re delighted to be back in the heart of London,” says Warner Rootliep, general manager for Air France–KLM in the UK and Ireland. “The new KLM service will give passengers a seamless and convenient link from central London not only to Amsterdam but onward to destinations such as New York, Dubai and Hong Kong. Connectivity is vital for both corporate and leisure travellers, and we believe this route will be a strong addition to KLM’s network.”
This return to London City follows other recent network expansions: a few months earlier, KLM also relaunched its route to Dublin (DUB) after a 50-year hiatus.
