JW Marriott Grosvenor House London Unveils Multimillion Renovation

JW Marriott Grosvenor House London has revealed the results of a multimillion-dollar renovation that updates its guestrooms and public spaces while preserving the hotel’s historic character.

First opening in 1929, the luxury property is a long-standing fixture in London life, regularly hosting royalty, celebrities and high-profile events such as the BAFTA Awards.

“Throughout the 90 years of its legacy, JW Marriott Grosvenor House London has played a role, whether large or small, in the history of this well-beloved city,” said Stuart Bowery, general manager of the hotel. “This year, following significant transformations, our truly iconic hotel begins an exciting new chapter. We look forward to welcoming our guests as we head into the next decade and hope they feel inspired and fulfilled.”

Visitors notice the transformation as soon as they enter. The ground floor design now harmonizes with nearby Hyde Park, and large panes of glass create visual connections between the lobby and the Park Room. Guestrooms have been refreshed with a warm, natural color scheme and accents inspired by the park. Throughout the hotel, artwork reflects the history of travel and adds a thoughtful, curated touch to public and private spaces.

“The reintroduction of the iconic JW Marriott Grosvenor House London signifies an exciting milestone as the property celebrates its ninetieth anniversary this year,” said Mitzi Gaskins, global brand leader for JW Marriott. “We are thrilled to welcome our guests to the new Grosvenor House where they will continue to enjoy the highest level of luxury, inclusive of enriching experiences and warm, intentional service that embodies the JW Marriott brand.”

The renovation balances modern comforts with the hotel’s historic stature, enhancing guest experience while paying homage to the building’s legacy. By integrating contemporary design elements that reference the surrounding landscape and by updating common areas and rooms, the property aims to offer both longtime patrons and new visitors a refreshed but familiar stay.

As a result of these updates, the hotel presents a more cohesive progression from arrival to room, with public spaces designed to feel open and connected and guestrooms focused on comfort, calm and a sense of place. The refreshed interiors, combined with the hotel’s established reputation for service and events, reinforce its role as a prominent London destination for leisure and business travelers alike.
