Jumeirah Group has announced plans to expand its global luxury hotel portfolio with a new property in St. Petersburg, Russia. Slated to open within the next three years, the hotel will be housed in Wavelberg House, a historic 1912 building located in one of the city’s most prestigious districts, within walking distance of the Hermitage and approximately 30 minutes from Pulkovo Airport (LED).
The property will offer 74 guest rooms, including 18 suites, alongside three bars and restaurants. Wellness and event facilities will include a spa, a rooftop hydrotherapy pool and dedicated meeting and event space, designed to serve both leisure and business guests.
Gerald Lawless, President and CEO of Jumeirah Group, commented that the brand’s popularity with Russian visitors to its Dubai properties made the decision to enter the Russian market a natural step. He highlighted the significance of the chosen location and the historic character of Wavelberg House as fitting for the company’s first hotel in Russia.
Jumeirah Group currently operates 22 luxury hotels and serviced residences worldwide, with a presence across the Gulf, Europe and Asia. The addition of the St. Petersburg property marks a strategic expansion into a culturally rich and high-demand market, reinforcing the brand’s focus on historic and high-profile locations.
