Jordan Webcams: Live Views of Petra, Aqaba and the Dead Sea

Armchair travel takes on a new dimension with the launch of the first live webcams in the Middle East. The Jordan Tourism Board has partnered with EarthCam to introduce a set of live-streaming webcams that bring some of Jordan’s most iconic sights directly to your screen.

These webcams serve as a virtual passport, offering real-time views of Jordan’s top attractions. One camera focuses on the Amman Citadel, where ongoing excavations have revealed artifacts from Roman, Byzantine and early Islamic periods. Another Amman camera provides sweeping, bird’s-eye views above the city’s streets, giving viewers a vivid sense of the capital’s scale and character.

At the Dead Sea, a webcam has been installed at what is billed as the “lowest webcam on the planet,” capturing the unique landscape and shimmering saline waters that define this extraordinary location. A separate camera in Aqaba presents uninterrupted views of the Red Sea, highlighting Jordan’s coastal gateway and its maritime scenery. The collection also includes a webcam pointed at the ancient site of Petra, the celebrated city carved into rose-colored rock by the Nabataean civilization more than 2,000 years ago.

These live streams make it possible to experience Jordan’s history, geography and atmosphere from anywhere in the world. Whether you want to watch the light shift across Petra’s facades, observe daily life in Amman, follow the tranquil expanse of the Dead Sea, or take in Aqaba’s coastal vistas, the webcams provide an accessible and engaging way to explore.

The initiative benefits residents, prospective visitors and educators alike: students can use the feeds to study archaeology and urban life; travelers can preview destinations and plan itineraries; and anyone curious about Jordan can enjoy real-time scenes that convey both natural beauty and cultural depth.

By combining modern streaming technology with Jordan’s rich heritage, the Jordan Tourism Board and EarthCam have created a resource that promotes understanding and interest in the country’s landmarks while encouraging responsible curiosity and virtual exploration.
