Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto is offering a preview of his ramen concept, Momosan Ramen & Sake, with a special pop-up dinner at MGM Grand from January 23–26. Momosan currently operates three locations in New York City, Waikiki and Seattle.
The menu is a la carte and showcases Morimoto’s take on classic and modern Japanese comfort dishes. Standouts include Tokyo Chicken Ramen — soy-marinated chicken served in a creamy broth finished with nori and scallions; Momosan Tonkotsu — pork in a rich, milky broth accented with garlic oil and soy tare; soft shell bao — a pillowy bao bun filled with crispy soft-shell crab, pickled cucumber and mustard mayonnaise; gyudon — thinly sliced beef belly with onions, dashi soy and pickled ginger over rice; and crispy mimiga — Japanese-style fried pig ear paired with Japanese mayonnaise.
“Momosan pays homage to my childhood in Hiroshima, where I developed an early love of noodles,” Morimoto said. “While ramen is our focus, we also feature a variety of other traditional and contemporary Japanese-inspired comfort foods. I’m honored to share one of my favorite and most personal culinary projects with MGM Grand’s guests and visitors.”
The pop-up will be held in the Morimoto lounge at MGM Grand beginning at 4 p.m. from January 23–26, offering guests a chance to sample the restaurant’s signature dishes in an intimate setting.
