Arrival/Check-In: I have enjoyed this property for many years, first as a Park Hyatt and now as the InterContinental. Its central location puts you close to everything in Century City, yet the property itself feels like a quiet oasis.
Traveling with a business colleague from Los Angeles, we arrived early for morning meetings and decided to check in between appointments. Valet took our car and was attentive; a brief exchange and a gratuity kept our vehicle ready for a quick exit later that afternoon. When I returned in the evening the parking team even remembered me by name. With only roll-aboard luggage I didn’t require bellman assistance. Check-in was fast, I received my keys, and I went up to the room to drop off my bag and answer a few emails before lunch. While dining, we spoke with the hotel’s director of sales and marketing about recent updates to the property.
Guest Quarters: My room was classically contemporary and comfortably appointed. A short hallway opened into a spacious living area with several windows overlooking parts of Century City. A sofa and coffee table faced a large flat-screen TV mounted on the wall. At the far end of the room a desk faced a window, and nearby a round dining table sat up to five people. The glass-topped desk has a retro-modern look and was paired with a comfortable work chair—ideal for catching up on messages and work. Double doors led to the bedroom, which featured a king-sized bed with nightstands on either side and another large-screen TV opposite the bed. The bathroom off the bedroom included granite countertops, a double sink, and ample amenities. True to five-star form, the hotel provides many forgotten-guest essentials. Bathroom products were Agraria San Francisco, and the lemon verbena scent felt fresh without being overpowering.
Services/Amenities: We lunched at Park Grill, the hotel’s restaurant that blends global flavors with a California sensibility under Executive Chef Jonathan Wood. I began with a ginger carrot soup and followed with a very fresh Caesar salad topped with grilled shrimp. The bar highlights a signature cocktail crafted with the hotel’s blend of Angel’s Envy bourbon, which adds a distinctly American touch. Park Grill also offers private dining for small business lunches and events, which we used during our visit.
The fitness center is well equipped with modern cardio and strength machines, plus steam rooms. Outdoors there is a heated pool and Jacuzzi—great for a relaxing swim or post-workout recovery. The on-site spa is popular with locals and provides a range of restorative treatments.
The Experience: InterContinental Hotels Group maintains this property as a prime business destination in Los Angeles. The brand’s strong reputation and its loyalty program, IHG Rewards Club, make the hotel appealing to frequent travelers and business guests. Overall, the combination of location, attentive staff, comfortable rooms, and dining options makes the InterContinental Los Angeles Century City a reliable choice for both business and leisure stays.
