Inside Portland’s First Hotel in the Pearl District

Marriott International, Inc. has opened the first hotel in Portland, Ore.’s revitalized Pearl District: the Residence Inn Portland Downtown/Pearl District. The Pearl District is widely recognized for its successful urban renewal and vibrant cultural scene.

Located on the western bank of the Willamette River, the Pearl District has roots in the railroad and industrial development of the early 20th century. Over recent years it has transformed into a fashionable neighborhood known for craft breweries, diverse restaurants, parks, art galleries and theaters, making it a lively destination for both visitors and locals.

The six-story hotel includes 223 suites with a range of floor plans and features such as floor-to-ceiling windows, complimentary high-speed internet access and grocery delivery services. Guests can enjoy a manager’s reception on Monday and Wednesday evenings, as well as complimentary local newspapers.

To mark the hotel’s opening, Residence Inn Portland Downtown/Pearl District offered Marriott Rewards members 2,500 bonus points per stay for stays through July 2014.
