Wine & Dine Festival Returns This October
The Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival returns to Central Harbourfront from Oct. 23–27, expanding to five days of outdoor culinary celebration. Expect dozens of food stalls presenting a wide range of flavors, plus a dedicated gourmet zone where roughly 10 award-winning restaurants will showcase their signature dishes. An exclusive cocktail lounge by Victoria Harbour offers a classy spot to sample inventive drinks while enjoying harbor views. The festival also kicks off Taste Around the World, a citywide culinary series that continues through November, highlighting Hong Kong’s diverse dining scene.
Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance
Recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage, the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance is scheduled for Sept. 16–18. More than 300 participants guide a 67-meter-long dragon—constructed from pearl straws and adorned with about 12,000 burning incense sticks—through the narrow, grid-like lanes of Tai Hang. The event reaches a peak on Sept. 17, the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival, when a themed drone show lights up the harbor. The celebrations also include carnivals and performances across Victoria Park and Lee Tung Avenue, offering both tradition and spectacle.

Hong Kong Halloween
Halloween in Hong Kong blends Eastern and Western traditions, becoming one of the liveliest dates on the city’s social calendar. Malls, restaurants and attractions decorate for the occasion, and themed events pop up across neighborhoods. Lan Kwai Fong, the city’s premier nightlife district, hosts particularly elaborate celebrations: more than 100 bars and restaurants join in, with costumed crowds partying late into the night. If you’re in town for Halloween, expect theatrical decorations, street entertainment, and a party atmosphere across many districts.

Temple Street Night Market
Temple Street offers one of the most authentic glimpses of Hong Kong after dark. The market combines street food stalls, fortune tellers, pawn-shop signage and light installations, creating a lively, sensory-rich experience. Sample local favorites such as clay pot rice, classic dim sum, and traditional snake soup, and try street treats like dragon’s beard candy or marinated “aeroplane” olives. Beyond the food, the neighborhood’s architecture, pop-up performances and bustling stalls provide a vivid sense of local nightlife culture.
Autumn in Hong Kong is a season of celebration and flavor, from grand festivals on the harbor to intimate neighborhood traditions. Whether you’re drawn to gourmet events, cultural pageantry, or street-market discoveries, the city’s nighttime offerings make it an ideal time to explore and enjoy.
