Hawaiian Airlines Unveils New In-Flight Menu and Designer Uniforms

Hawaiian Airlines has launched a new onboard dining concept called Pau Hāna Café. The complimentary meal service is available to passengers traveling between Hawai‘i and U.S. West Coast gateway cities. Developed in response to guest feedback, the new program prepares the airline for service on its incoming Airbus A321neo narrow-body fleet while preserving the warm, welcoming hospitality Hawaiian is known for.

“Our complimentary in-flight meals have been a hallmark of the authentic and warm hospitality our guests have enjoyed for decades,” said Avi Mannis, senior vice president of marketing at Hawaiian Airlines. “As we adapt our meal program for the A321neos, guests told us they value more interaction with the in-flight crew, so we added additional service touchpoints throughout the journey.”

Pau Hāna Café is an exclusive Hawaiian Airlines brand that offers bistro-style continental breakfast boxes, hot sandwiches, sides, desserts and a selection of beverages. The menu focuses on approachable, freshly prepared items that are easy to serve on narrow-body aircraft while maintaining quality and island character.

First-class passengers flying from Hawai‘i to North American destinations will continue to enjoy the airline’s Featured Chef Series. The series highlights local culinary talent and rotating menus; the current featured chef is Wade Ueoka of MW Restaurant, with his menu available through June of next year. His offerings include island-inspired dishes such as a chilled tofu salad and a Portuguese sausage meatloaf, reflecting regional flavors and chef-driven presentation.

The updated meal program coincides with a refreshed uniform collection for Hawaiian Airlines’ front-line employees. Designed by Sig Zane and introduced during Honolulu Fashion Week, the new uniforms draw inspiration from lehua blossoms and bamboo stamps, blending traditional Hawaiian motifs with contemporary design.

With Pau Hāna Café and the continued Featured Chef Series, Hawaiian Airlines aims to balance efficient service for its A321neo operations with the cultural and culinary touches that passengers associate with travel to and from Hawai‘i. The changes reflect customer input and the carrier’s effort to preserve local flavor while evolving service for a new aircraft type.
