Arrival/Check in: I arrived in Mexico City on a sunny late afternoon and made a quick drive from Benito Juárez International Airport to Paseo de la Reforma. The Four Seasons Mexico City sits in the heart of this vibrant area; stepping into the covered driveway instantly brings a sense of calm, art and understated luxury.
Inside the black-and-white marble lobby a large arrangement of fresh flowers fills the air with fragrance. A welcoming receptionist completed a smooth check-in in minutes. The lobby offers distinct seating areas—cozy spots by the fireplace, marble workstations and lounge chairs—making it easy to work, meet or relax between activities.
Guest Quarters: My fifth-floor executive suite felt immediately comfortable and contemporary. Warm, pristine carpeting with subtle red accents led to a well-lit hallway with generous closet space and a fully stocked bar. The main room opens to large windows that let in abundant natural light and frame a peaceful courtyard filled with plants, flowers and a fountain. I kept the windows open to enjoy the fresh air and courtyard sounds.
The king-size bed provided an excellent night’s sleep. A lounge area with a couch and ottoman and a large desk with multiple outlets made it easy to work when needed. The bathroom features cream-colored marble floors, a spacious vanity with great lighting and a large spa tub; the separate glass-enclosed shower felt a bit tight but the L’Occitane bath amenities were a welcome touch.
Services/Amenities: This property works well for business travelers and leisure guests alike. Each morning I stopped at Pan Dulce, the coffee shop and bakery, and often took my coffee out to the veranda before a day of meetings. Il Becco, the all-day restaurant set in the courtyard, is beautifully tiled and warmly lit—ideal for dinner and Italian cuisine. For evenings, Fifty Mils, the lively gastro bar, offers signature cocktails such as Billy the Kid and Frijolito; with leather sofas, club chairs and outdoor seating spilling into the courtyard, it’s a great spot to unwind.

While many city hotels lack outdoor pools, the Four Seasons features a rooftop pool and deck where guests can relax in the afternoon. The hotel also has a full gym, though I recommend an early-morning jog along Reforma for added sightseeing and immersion in the city.
Top takeaways:
◆ The hotel’s contemporary and folk art collection creates a distinct and inviting atmosphere.
◆ Dining in the courtyard is a must—whether for morning coffee by the fountain or an evening cocktail outside at Fifty Mils.
◆ The central location on Paseo de la Reforma makes it convenient to enjoy restaurants, museums and business destinations.
