Ellen Kensington Opens Boutique Hotel in London This September

This September, a refined new hotel will open in London’s Kensington neighborhood. Ellen Kensington occupies five interconnected Victorian townhouses and offers 105 carefully designed guestrooms and suites that blend contemporary comfort with preserved period detail. The property also features a pan-Asian restaurant with a large terrace and theatrical dining experiences.

Much of the original architecture has been sensitively restored and incorporated into the design, highlighting the buildings’ history. Period banisters, wrought-iron gate rails and reinstated high ceilings are among the features that give the hotel its character while supporting modern finishes and comforts.

The room types range from single guestrooms to an expansive top suite. All accommodations are appointed with thoughtful amenities such as rain showers and anti-fog, heated bathroom mirrors, designed to provide a comfortable and contemporary stay.

Dining and social spaces include a destination bar and a cigar lounge as part of the hotel’s beverage and entertainment offerings. The Lacquer Room serves as the hotel’s pan-Asian restaurant and includes a private terrace for outdoor dining. Open for lunch and dinner, the Lacquer Room’s lunch menu features bento boxes and light plates, while evening service offers immersive formats such as Shabu Shabu and countertop dining. An Asian-inspired Afternoon Tea is available daily, presenting a fresh take on the classic service.

Wellness and relaxation are central to the hotel’s guest experience. Ellen Kensington houses a gym and six Ryokan Spa suites where guests can enjoy Asian-inspired treatments. The hotel provides 24-hour service and in-room dining on request, ensuring attention to detail and convenience throughout a guest’s stay.
