Dubai Duty Free began the year strongly, reporting record annual sales of $1.91 billion for 2014, an increase of 7.36% compared with the previous year. The performance was supported by a new monthly sales high of $205.24 million in December 2014, up from $192 million the year before.
Perfume was the leading category with sales of $314 million. It was followed by liquor at $286 million and gold at $163.6 million. Cigarettes and tobacco generated $160 million and confectionery contributed $147.7 million, completing the top five product categories.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Dubai Duty Free, for his continued support, and expressed gratitude to the organisation’s staff, suppliers and customers for their roles in the company’s growth.
Looking ahead, Dubai Duty Free plans to continue refurbishing Concourse C and open a new retail area in Concourse D. The retailer also intends to maintain an active promotional calendar, including hosting the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships from Feb. 15–28 at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium.
