Cathay Pacific has recently introduced Airbus A350 aircraft on its Australia routes, deploying the modern jets on services to Brisbane (BNE) and Perth (PER).
The aircraft changeover was implemented last month on the airline’s daily Brisbane service, with the Perth route scheduled to receive the A350 starting in October. Cathay Pacific also plans to add a second A350 on its Melbourne (MEL) connection in the near future.
“We’ve been flying into Perth since 1970 and we’re thrilled to be introducing our newest aircraft on our direct services to and from Hong Kong,” said Nelson Chin, general manager Southwest Pacific for Cathay Pacific. The airline notes that the A350 not only increases capacity but also provides more comfortable cabins and updated interior designs.
Each A350 in Cathay’s configuration features three cabin classes: 38 business-class seats, 28 premium-economy seats, and 214 economy seats. Switching the Perth service to an A350 will add roughly 406 additional seats on that route each week, improving capacity for travellers between Western Australia and Hong Kong.
Based in Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific is also pursuing a broader fleet and network strategy. The airline is introducing new destinations, increasing frequencies on high-demand routes, and incorporating more fuel-efficient aircraft across its schedules to enhance passenger experience and operational efficiency.
