THE JOURNEY BEGINS before the flight, and the renovated Casa Alitalia lounges welcome guests with an elegant yet comfortable design that sets the tone for travel.
As part of its broader relaunch of ground and in-flight services, Alitalia has opened flagship Casa Alitalia lounges at Rome Fiumicino and Milan Malpensa airports. The guest experience embraces traditional Italian hospitality: meticulous attention to detail and a warm, welcoming atmosphere designed to make travelers from around the world feel at home.
This new concept was conceived by Alitalia and brought to life by Italian architect Marco Piva, who translated the beauty and essence of Italy into the functional space of an airport lounge. Thoughtful organization and high-quality materials, including marble, reflect a distinctive Italian art of living. Casa Alitalia is intended to feel more like a private Italian home than a typical public space. Interiors are arranged to resemble rooms in a beautiful residence — with a reception area, relaxation and conversation spaces, and dedicated cooking and dining areas. The experience begins at the entrance, where a door inspired by the main doorway of an Italian palazzo separates the bustle of the airport from the refined calm of Casa Alitalia. The lounge areas are connected like rooms in a house, and at the center is the kitchen and wine cellar area, serving as the heart of the space.
The catering at Casa Alitalia in Rome and Milan showcases Italian culinary excellence. A live cooking station features chefs preparing selections of fresh pasta and pizzas twice daily. In addition, a buffet and bar offer a variety of Italian wines and a traditional aperitivo crafted by a professional bartender. Services also include private VIP rooms for meetings, a library, a prayer and meditation space, shower-equipped restrooms, and WiFi connectivity to meet the needs of modern travelers.
Casa Alitalia serves as a showcase of Italian quality through partnerships with renowned national brands. Furnishings and seating are by Poltrona Frau; Cantine Ferrari supplies sparkling wine; Lavazza created exclusive coffee blends for the airline; and Terme di Sirmione provides wellness products available to guests. These collaborations reinforce the lounge’s commitment to authentic Italian style and service.
Casa Alitalia at Rome Fiumicino is situated in boarding area G, serving long- and medium-haul extra-Schengen flights. The Rome lounge covers approximately 800 square meters and offers more than 115 seats. At Milan Malpensa, Casa Alitalia is located in the Satellite Nord boarding area, spanning about 500 square meters with over 90 seats. Malpensa guests also benefit from a dedicated jetway allowing direct boarding from the lounge to the aircraft.
Casa Alitalia lounges are reserved for Alitalia Business Class travelers and top-tier members of Alitalia’s MilleMiglia and partner loyalty programs.
