Canadian Connections: Networking Tips for Expats and Newcomers

Air Canada will expand its Toronto (YYZ) hub with a new Boeing 787 Dreamliner route to the Indian subcontinent, addressing the carrier’s largest international market that it did not previously serve. Beginning November 1, 2015, New Delhi (DEL) will join Air Canada’s global network as the airline’s inaugural route operated with the larger Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which the airline planned to introduce into its fleet in 2015.

Service will operate four times weekly, using three-cabin Dreamliner aircraft. The configuration includes Air Canada’s next-generation lie-flat seats in International Business Class, enhancing comfort on the long-haul sector. Flight schedules are designed to provide convenient connections across Air Canada’s North American network and onward within India via Air India or other interline partners. These connections will facilitate travel to major Indian cities such as Mumbai (BOM), Chennai (MAA), and Hyderabad (HYD), as well as to additional destinations throughout Southeast Asia.

“This service will appeal both to customers visiting and doing business in Delhi, the capital region of India and the fourth most populous urban area in the world, and to those customers making onward connections within India and throughout Southeast Asia on our Star Alliance partner, Air India, or other interline partners,” said Calin Rovinescu, president and chief executive officer of Air Canada.
