This year, Brussels Airlines is expanding its European network with a 6% increase in flight rotations and an 8% rise in available seats compared with last summer. Demand is strongest on routes to Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece, which are among the airline’s most popular destinations this travel season.
More than 12,000 flights to European destinations are scheduled for the remainder of the summer season. In addition, Brussels Airlines has planned roughly 1,500 long‑haul flights for July and August to meet summer travel demand. To streamline the airport experience, the carrier strongly encourages travellers to use online or mobile check‑in. Currently about 15,000 passengers check in each day via the airline’s web or mobile channels, and the airport expects to issue its 10 millionth mobile boarding pass by the end of the year.
Brussels Airlines also confirms that normal operations have been fully restored at its Brussels Airport (BRU) hub. The airline reports that the impacts from the March 22 terrorist attack no longer disrupt daily travel, with airport facilities and security procedures functioning as standard to ensure passenger safety and a smooth journey.
