British Airways has opened a redesigned lounge at Rome Fiumicino Airport, introducing a fresh look that combines contemporary European style with British touches. The carrier describes the space as a luxurious, modern environment intended to enhance the pre-flight experience for its customers.
The lounge spans 460 square meters and can accommodate roughly 140 guests. A granite-topped bar serves as the focal point of the space; during busy periods a mixologist prepares cocktails, while quieter times are served through a self-service arrangement.
Guests will find practical and comfortable amenities throughout the lounge, including wireless printing facilities, ample power and USB charging ports, and marble-topped tables. The design is complemented by artwork from the airline’s collection, notably pieces from Patrick Caulfield’s 1973 series “Some Poems of Jules Laforgue,” which add a cultured, visual element to the setting.
Large windows feature smart electronic blinds that adjust automatically using sensors that respond to changing light and heat. This system keeps the lounge at a pleasant temperature and maintains consistent lighting levels throughout the day, improving overall comfort for travelers.
Located in Terminal 3, the lounge operates daily from 5:15 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. This opening forms part of British Airways’ wider investment in its airport lounges, with additional upgraded and new lounges planned to open later in the year.
