Banyan Tree has launched a new brand called Cassia. Positioned between traditional hotels and serviced apartments, Cassia provides one- and two-bedroom residences designed for flexible living and dining, suited to both short and extended stays.
“Cassia brings together three of the group’s core strengths — hospitality, design and real estate — to create the next generation of hotel residences,” said Ho Kwon Ping, executive chairman of Banyan Tree Group. “We saw an opportunity in the extended-stay market and developed a hospitality product that reflects the needs of today’s travelers.”
Initial Cassia projects are in development across Thailand, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Australia and China, with further properties planned for the United States, Japan, the Seychelles and Vietnam.
Cassia is part of Banyan Tree Group’s broader global expansion strategy. The group aims to grow its portfolio to 66 hotels and resorts, 117 spas and 115 galleries across 33 countries by 2017, reinforcing its presence in both leisure and residential hospitality sectors.
