Food & Wine

Market Bürkliplatz is a must-visit for seasonal produce, flowers, cheese, fish and meats. Held every Tuesday and Friday morning, it is one of Zürich’s largest local markets and a great place to sample high-quality regional foods.

Wine enthusiasts can also visit the city’s two urban wineries for harvest-season tastings. Zweifel, known widely for its snack brand, has deep local roots and produces regional wines. The Landolt winery, founded in 1834, cultivates a picturesque vineyard and produces a wide range of wines from multiple grape varieties native to the Zürich region.

Fall Foliage

For panoramic autumn colors, take the 25-minute train ride to Uetliberg. At nearly 2,800 feet above sea level, this local mountain offers sweeping views of the city, the lake and the Alps, framed by the surrounding forest’s seasonal hues.

Within the Old Town, Lindenhof provides another scenic viewpoint where yellowing trees create a tranquil autumn atmosphere. Below Lindenhof, the Schipfe quarter lines the river and is particularly picturesque when leaves change color.

Museums & Exhibitions

At Kunsthaus Zurich, a retrospective exhibition highlights the work of Niki de Saint Phalle, presenting a broad selection that traces her innovative approach and distinctive style.

The WOW Museum, dedicated to optical illusions, offers interactive experiences such as the WOW City Rally. This activity combines animated illusions, playful challenges and engaging interactions that let visitors explore the city through a creative, immersive lens.

Whether you come for food and wine, film and digital art, scenic hikes or museum exhibitions, Zürich in the fall offers a rich blend of cultural and outdoor experiences suitable for many interests.
