Located in the heart of Amsterdam’s museum and arts district, the elegant Conservatorium Hotel delivers a five-star stay with a strong artistic focus. The hotel’s ongoing Art Months at the Conservatorium features rotating exhibitions by Dutch artists; this season concludes in November with works by Ralph Nauta on display through Nov. 30. Nauta, co-founder of Studio Drift, has been showcased at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, and his Shylights series was recently acquired by the Rijksmuseum.
Ideally situated near the Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk Museum and Van Gogh Museum, the hotel occupies the former home of the Sweelinck Conservatory of Music. Italian architect and designer Piero Lissoni has created contemporary interiors that harmonize with the building’s distinctive historic structure. Spread across eight floors, the Conservatorium offers 129 luxury rooms and suites, plus dining and social venues including the Brasserie and Lounge at lobby level, the Asian-inspired Taiko restaurant, and the popular Tunes Bar for cocktails.
The hotel also features the Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre, one of the largest wellness facilities in Amsterdam. Designed around the elements—earth, water, fire and air—the centre includes an Organic Bar, a watsu pool, a fully equipped fitness centre, an indoor swimming pool, a sauna and a hammam, providing a comprehensive range of restorative treatments and amenities.
