Autograph Collection unveiled westdrift Manhattan Beach late last month as its flagship property in the Los Angeles area. Situated on 26 acres just four miles from Los Angeles International Airport, the hotel merges coastal charm with contemporary hospitality.
westdrift Manhattan Beach features nearly 400 guestrooms and suites, including 112 rooms with private balconies that offer sweeping views. The interiors draw inspiration from East Coast beach living, using natural textures and a soothing, beach-informed color palette. Public areas flow into the indoor-outdoor Jute Coastal Bar + Kitchen, which presents a bicoastal menu and an extensive cocktail program.
The hotel lies one mile from the shoreline and is close to shopping, dining and entertainment at The Point. Guests can borrow beach cruisers through a partnership with Solé Bicycles, and enjoy on-demand entertainment via in-room technology as well as outdoor lawn games. The grounds include a nine-hole golf course, an outdoor pool and a fitness center. For meetings and events, the property offers 35,000 square feet of flexible space, including 18 meeting rooms, a ballroom and three industrial-style venues.
“With the opening of westdrift, Manhattan Beach finally earns a new hotel worthy of its sophisticated surroundings,” said Stephanie Bauer, general manager of westdrift. “The spirit of the Autograph Collection reflects a true sense of place, and the blend of business and beach life in Manhattan Beach creates an inspiring, enviable muse. From the moment guests arrive, they’ll feel that distinctive allure.”
“We are excited to debut our first Autograph Collection hotel in Manhattan Beach with the beautiful westdrift,” added Jennifer Connell, vice president of brand marketing and management for Autograph Collection Hotels. “With seven Autograph Collection hotels already operating in California and nine more planned to open over the next three years, we’re proud to welcome westdrift to our growing California portfolio. The property exemplifies the brand’s commitment to vision, design and craft.”
