Austrian Airlines, part of the Lufthansa Group, has completed a fleet retrofit and now offers premium-economy on every long-haul service.
In total there are 228 premium-economy seats installed across 11 long-haul aircraft, including both Boeing 767 and 777 models. On the Boeing 777s, premium-economy is arranged in three rows of 24 seats in a 2-4-2 layout, while the Boeing 767s feature three rows of 18 seats in a 2-2-2 configuration.
The seats were specially developed for the Lufthansa Group by manufacturer ZIM. Each seat provides 38 inches of legroom, a built-in footrest and a 12-inch entertainment screen. Passengers also have access to individual power outlets and USB ports at every seat.
Premium-economy passengers receive two checked bags as part of their allowance, are served a choice of three main-course options presented on china tableware, and are provided with an amenity kit to enhance comfort on long flights.
This upgrade standardizes a higher level of comfort on Austrian Airlines’ long-haul network, giving travelers more space, improved in-flight entertainment and enhanced service compared with standard economy while maintaining a practical cabin layout for aircraft efficiency.
