Asiana Launches New Flights to Barcelona and Venice

Korean carrier Asiana Airlines will launch two new nonstop routes to Europe in 2018, adding regular service to Venice (VCE) and Barcelona (BCN). While Asiana has operated occasional charter flights to both cities since 2014, these routes will now become permanent scheduled services.

Service to Venice Marco Polo Airport will begin May 1, operating three times weekly on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Flights will connect Seoul’s Incheon International Airport with Venice, offering travelers a direct link between South Korea and the historic Italian lagoon city.

Barcelona service will start Aug. 30, with flights four times weekly on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. This new route provides an additional convenient option for passengers flying between Seoul and Spain’s Catalan capital.

Both routes will be operated with Asiana’s two-class Boeing 777-200 aircraft. Although the cabins on individual aircraft may have slightly different seat configurations, each will feature the airline’s fully flat Business Smartium seats, delivering greater comfort for long-haul travelers.

With the addition of Barcelona, Asiana’s European network will expand to seven destinations. The carrier already serves Frankfurt (FRA), İstanbul (IST), London (LHR), Paris (CDG) and Rome (FCO), and the new nonstop flights to Venice and Barcelona further strengthen its connections between South Korea and Europe.

These scheduled services are aimed at meeting growing passenger demand for direct links between Seoul and major European cultural and business centers, while offering improved onboard comfort and consistent schedules for leisure and corporate travelers alike.
